The Bergamot tree can grow up to four meters high, with star-shaped flowers, and smooth leaves, bearing citrus fruit resembling a cross between an orange and a grapefruit but in a pear-shape. The fruit ripens from green to yellow. The name Bergamot is derived from the city Bergamo in Lombardy where the oil was first sold.

Bergamot Oil - Cold Pressed Organic is an essential oil extracted from the peel of the bergamot orange fruit. It has a strong characteristic citrus aroma and unique flavor. It receives great attention through its use with Earl Grey tea. This oil, like many popular essential oils, has an appealing aroma and flavor allowing for a wide range of uses including aromatherapy, flavoring and as a perfumer. Aside from its physical attributes, bergamot oil may be used in applications to maintain skin health.

The aroma is basically citrus, yet fruity and sweet with a warm spicy floral quality, and is reminiscent of Neroli, giving a middle note of medium strength.

Colic, flatulence, indigestion, antiviral, cold sores, chickenpox, shingles, sedative, uplifting, tension, anxiety, depression, regulate appetite,cystitis, UTI, wounds, herpes, acne, oily skin, eczema and psoriasis.


Used in aromatherapy to help ease emotional symptoms of:

Relaxing, restoring, calming and antidepressant.


Cautions: This essential oil may contain phototoxic properties and it is suggested to avoid exposure to the sun after application to the skin.

  • Dilute very well before use (2-5mL per 100mL of Blissful Glo Classic cream/butter); for external use only. May cause skin irritation in some individuals; a skin test is recommended prior to use. Contact with eyes should be avoided.

    Evaporate into the air using a diffuser container, spray, or oil droplets, or breathed in, for example, in a steam bath (Use 3-4 drops in the diffuser of choice).

    Ingesting, or swallowing, essential oils is not recommended.
